New research reveals companies are reluctant to invest capital in motivating their staff

Research conducted by IncentiveDirect, provider of innovative online reward and motivation systems, has revealed that companies still consider price to be the major barrier to their implementing a valuable incentive or motivation scheme ñ despite evidence that the investment is money well spent.

A recent survey showed that companies which had utilised incentive and motivation schemes had seen significant and tangible impacts from them on staff performance and contentment ñ 45% of companies which utilised incentive and motivation schemes have seen a significant increase in their employeesí performance levels - but despite this, companies still consider the initial financial outlay on an incentive programme to be the chief obstacle to using a motivation and reward system in their organisation.

12% of companies surveyed believed that the seemingly expensive cost of setting up an incentive and motivation programme for their staff outweighed the benefits to be had from the increased performance and improved job satisfaction which resulted from the scheme. Internal communication issues between staff and management were also found, which some companies perceived to be a barrier for some organisations to successfully implement an incentive and motivation strategy.
