New recruitment tool aims to regulate agency usage

An online service that allows organisations to regulate and report on their use of agencies has been developed to meet the needs of public sector recruitment specialists.

Three month free trials of PreferredSupplierList.com (PSL) are being offered. The system allows managers to identify agencies that exactly fit the needs of any organisation, and are able to work to their terms and conditions.

PSL helps organisations register interest from prospective recruitment agencies via the internet rather than fielding daily enquires via the phone, reducing cold calls and time spent dealing with recruitment consultants over the phone.

Adrian McDonagh, managing director at Northamptonshire-based EasyWebRecruitment.com, said that recruitment suppliers are asked to register rather online than ëcold callí companies, providing their clients with the information they need to identify suitable recruitment avenues.

ìCustomers add either a customised PSL registration form to their website or a link to the same form on the PSL website. Any one of four service levels then manages the process of registering new agencies,î he added.

McDonagh says that his companyís experience as a leading flat fee online recruitment service was key to developing the PSL product.ìUsing PSL, information on approved and prospective suppliers can be seen by all approved individuals within an organisation,î he explained.

ìProblems arise because organisations of all sizes get too many cold calls from agencies. Another problem is that recruiting managers use agencies not formally approved across an organisation.î

The service can be customised to suit and clients can have forms designed to their exact needs. Each registration form has a unique set of questions that assist in gaining a real insight to an agency prior to making contact.

Agencies are approved at a time of the clientís choosing via the online database. The database then acts as a live list of approved suppliers, accessible by all recruiting or procurement managers. Multiple lists can be developed for suppliers approved within each area of their organisation.
