New appointments at SHL

Global leader in on-demand assessment SHL adds force to its consultancy team with the appointment of two new consultants. Julian Sykes and Annabel Jones join SHL as Managing Consultants, based in Manchester and London.

Julian joins SHL from Barclays, where he was a senior business partner in Human Resources, with responsibility for strategic HR initiatives and operational HR management for part of Barclays’ Technology Business.

Julian has a degree in sociology from the University of Durham and a particular interest in talent management and organisational change. His strong background in HR includes important experience in organisational change, role design, performance management and development, recruitment, training, cultural surveys and initiatives, definition of career structures and reward.

At SHL, Julian Sykesí particular responsibilities will lie in the design and delivery of strategic HR programmes to address business issues; the support, influencing and coaching of senior executives; and the delivery of people agendas across a variety of businesses.

Annabel Jones joins the company after five years running her own business as an independent consultant in financial services. During this time she specialised in assessment, development and talent management, and training in behavioural assessment techniques.

Previously, Annabel worked as the Consultancy Operations Director at the recruitment consultancy Barkers Norman Broadbent, with major account management and business development responsibilities in addition to operational responsibility for the Consultancy Technology Practice.

With a BSc in psychology from the University of Warwick, Annabel joins SHLís Executive Assessment team and takes responsibility for business development, client management and delivery. She will also manage SHLís dedicated executive assessment suite of offices in Central London.
