- Latest data signalled that growth of both permanent staff placements and temporary staff billings remained relatively subdued in March.
- Marchís PMI surveys highlighted a modest rise in UK private sector employment.
- Demand for staff continued to rise, but the rate of expansion eased to the least marked in four months.
- Demand was strongest for Executive & Professional staff in the perm sector, and for Engineering & Construction staff in the temp sector.
- A further sharp decline in permanent staff availability was recorded in March. In contrast, temp availability continued to improve.
- Permanent staff salaries continued to rise at a robust rate. Temp pay inflation eased to a six-month low, but was still solid.
