Monster Joins One Economy to Connect Millions of Low-Income Families to Career Resources

Kick-Off Event for the New Web Portal (www.beehive.monster.com) To Be Held Today at the Atlanta One-Stop Career Center

One Economy, a multinational nonprofit that brings technology into the homes of low-income families, today announced a strategic relationship with Monster(R), the leading global online careers and recruitment resource and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), to bring career tools to economically disadvantaged families.

The alliance brings the millions of users on One Economyís self-help portal, The Beehive, (www.beehive.org), access to continuously updated job postings. Under the agreement, a new web portal, http://beehive.monster.com, will integrate Monsterís core search and match technology with the Beehiveís Career Coach.

The inaugural launch event took place on January 25th at the Atlanta One-Stop Career Center (818 Pollard Boulevard, Atlanta, GA), where representatives from One Economy and Monster were on hand to explain the new initiative.

The Beehive Career Coach helps people set goals and create an interactive step-by-step plan to make it happen. It links them to information on education, financial aid, and budgeting to help with their financial goals. Narrative stories throughout the site provide inspiration and examples of how to use the techniques in the Career Coach program.

Monster is an ideal partner, said Rey Ramsey, CEO of One Economy. The new Beehive/Monster resource will open up many opportunities for low-income individuals who are seeking a job and a better life. Technology, when used for a purpose, can benefit everyone involved.

The integrated tool gives low-income individuals a single online destination where they will be able to use the Beehive to understand the system, and then match their skills and needs with jobs available on Monster.com. The content is easy-to-read, available in English and Spanish, and directs users to other Beehive tools that can help them improve their lives, including tips for starting a business and free tax filing.

Individuals who donít have the resources to research and apply for jobs via the web are at a disadvantage as going online has become an integral part of finding a job, said Steve Pemberton, Chief Diversity Officer, Monster. By working with One Economy, we can help bridge this disparity and assist economically disadvantaged people with finding quality employment opportunities online.

Community Launches

One Economy and Monster will unveil localized versions of the site at community launches in low-income neighborhoods. One Economy nonprofit and government partners around the country will co-host these events featuring online demonstrations and distribution of interactive CDs created by Monster.
