Milkround event brings recruiters and school leavers together

Over 1,000 school and college students attend two-day Milkround School Leavers event in London

Milkround have held their 4th School Leavers Careers Fair this week (split across Monday 12th October - Tuesday 13th October). One of the few of its kind, the Career Fair aims to give 16-18 year old school and college students the best possible start to their career.

Over 1,000 attendees attended the two-day event, hosted at News UK’s impressive headquarters in London Bridge, and got to have face time with over twenty of the country’s top employers - including the Army, Harrods, IBM, Thames Water, and Tesco - in order to glean what they are looking for in their future employees.

Students had a chance to network with some of the greatest UK employers as well as attend exclusive CV workshops, carried out by Milkround’s experienced staff, and presentations, held by top companies like Deloitte as well as a recent graduate.

Sara Buckley, Marketing Manager - School Leavers at Milkround, says: “Our event provides a fantastic platform for 16-18 year old students who are considering their career options to meet and network with a range of employers directly, to help inspire and inform them on a range of opportunities available to the when they leave school or college. We are excited to be bridging the gap between employers and students within the industry.”

Lauren Warner, Recruitment Officer at UHY Hacker Young LLP, says: “Great chance to showcase our firm and give the students alternatives to going to university. There is no better way to get the message out there than to speak to the students in person. The event was very useful, and I managed to engage with a number of students who will be great future accountants.”
