The Metropolitan Police Service Recruitment Directorate has won a ìCatalyst for Changeî Employment and Customer Services Award, presented by Changing Faces, the leading national disfigurement charity. The Recruitment Directorate won the award for incorporating Changing Facesí approach to disability and diversity into their procedures. The charityís disability equality training was so successful that they were invited to design a two day programme around difference and customer service which was delivered to all staff in the Recruitment Directorate. This programme is now a vital part of inductions for all new members of staff.
The Metropolitan Police Service Recruitment Directorate was one of five winners of Changing Facesí ìCatalyst for Change Awardsî - individuals, organisations and services that have made a huge impact in how disfigurement is addressed in health, education, employment and society. The awards were presented as part of the charityís 15th anniversary celebrations on 3 May 2007, at the Royal Society of Portrait Paintersí annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.
