Established in 1988, Marks Sattin has become one of the largest London-based recruiters in its target markets. Employing around 140 staff, it works with a wide-ranging client base that includes many of the FTSE 100 companies.
Greythorn currently focuses on the IT, telecoms, finance and creative sectors and has offices on four continents in the UK, USA, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Greythorn group is headed by one of the recruitment industryís most high profile figures, Graham Palfery-Smith, who was CEO of the HW Group before organising its sale to TMP (now Hudson) and who has also held senior positions with Robert Walters and Badenoch and Clark.
Backed by private equity house, Englefield Capital, Grahamís stated intention is to create a major global recruitment player covering all key world markets through a series of strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Marks Sattin is Greythornís second major acquisition to date. WH Recruitment, a leading banking and financial recruitment firm with operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore joined the group in December 2006.
ìWeíre very excited to have such a well respected and successful business as Marks Sattin on board, says Graham Palfery-Smith. ìWe see a lot of cross-selling potential between the firm and our existing businesses and, for the employees of Marks Sattin, the acquisition will open up a whole new series of career options both in the UK and around the world.î
David Sattin, Marks Sattinís Vice Chairman, states that, after running the company for twenty years he is delighted about the new opportunities on offer to Marks Sattinís people within Greythorn and the obvious synergy between the two organisations. ìGreythorn will be taking over what I consider to be one of the top management and consulting teams in the industry,î he added.
