Alesia Slocum has joined Manpower Inc. as Director of Marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa, based at the company’s EMEA headquarters in London.
The newly created role focuses on the expansion of centralized marketing campaigns and best practices across the EMEA geographies and promoting Manpower’s new brand, launched around the globe on February 21, 2006.
The EMEA region is the largest business unit within the Manpower organization and has seen strong growth in recent months. Manpower operates largely on a country model with a lean and highly mobile European leadership team, led by Barbara Beck, President, EMEA. Slocum reports directly to Beck and is responsible for all aspects of marketing, internal and external communications for EMEA as well as managing a network of marketing managers based in the countries.
Speaking about her new role, Slocum commented, I am delighted to accept the new challenge of directing Manpower’s EMEA marketing programme. The company has had great success with its recent global branding initiative and internally, as well as externally, there is a fresh and contemporary feel about the company and its marketing campaigns. I am very much looking forward to working with the country teams across the region to build on the strong marketing results that Manpower has already achieved.
Slocum joins Manpower from Exel Logistics where, since 1997, she was the EMEA Marketing Director for Freight Management and Logistics across eighteen European countries. Previous experience also includes marketing roles within United Parcel Services and DHL. Slocum speaks five languages and in addition to her BA in Communications from the University of Berkeley and Masters in International Economics from John Hopkins, is completing her Doctorate of Business Administration at Cranfield Business School.
