Manpower appointed to help streamline HPs agency contractor recruitment process through emea

New Recruitment Structure to Facilitate Development of More Fluid, Diverse and Adaptive Workforce

Manpower Inc. announced today that it has become a Managed Service Provider to HP (NYSE:HPQ). Under the terms of this new contract, Manpower is assisting HP to streamline its EMEA agency contractor workforce recruitment process through the introduction of a single infrastructure. The key goals for HP are to use Manpowerís network to deliver cost benefits, improvements in the quality of contingent workers and speed of engagement, and improved agency contractor management and retention.

As a Managed Service Provider to HP, which currently recruits thousands of agency contractors annually across the EMEA region, the new infrastructure involves Manpower coordinating the processing of contract worker applications for HP from a range of different suppliers across different geographies and business units within the EMEA region. Manpower will also continue to act as a supplier of contract worker staff.

Through partnering with Manpower and the establishment of a standardised agency contractor management structure, HP will be better placed to minimise cost, monitor and increase the quality of workers, and exploit more advanced technologies. It will also help to ensure more rapid engagement and improved retention rates through the increased effectiveness of management of contract renewals.

According to Hugo Bagu, Vice President of Human Resources, Customer Solutions Group, HP: ìInnovative HR solutions are essential for HP if we are to maximise productivity and manage cost in the volatile technology marketplace. By working with Manpower, HP will enhance its competitive advantage through the creation of a more fluid, diverse and adaptive workforce.î

This contract marks a significant expansion of HPís existing relationship with Manpower which was chosen as HPís primary EMEA agency contractor Managed Service Provider due to the quality of the companyís offering, its reach and experience, and its track record of delivering successful solutions on behalf of HP.

Yoav Michaely, Executive Vice President and Managing Director ñ EMEA region, Manpower, commented: ìManpower has already worked successfully with HP in EMEA for a number of years and has developed good relationships with, and in-depth knowledge of, many areas of the organisation. This new contract enables us to take this knowledge to the next level, and provide an increased Return on Investment across the board.î

In accordance with Manpowerís new remit, contract implementation is already underway in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, UK and France with the phased implementation, incorporating a further seventeen countries, set to continue in the EMEA region from November 2004.
