ìSalary data is usually a reflection of the employment market, as salaries move up or down in a reactive mode to balance supply and demand of talent,î said Bryan Zawikowski, division director and general manager for Lucas Group Military. ìThe data in our report, which shows steady, but not dramatic growth in starting salaries for military veterans departing active duty, is not surprising given the strength and stability of corporate earnings and hiring over the past 12-18 months.î
He continued, ìWe place more than 1,000 transitioning military veterans each year, and we work with many companies and organizations. One interesting finding about 2005 was that not all corporations in strong industries performed well from a profit standpoint; and conversely, some corporations in industries that are not as strong did surprisingly well. We will soon reach a demographic tipping point when corporations that have not implemented leadership development as a high priority will find themselves at a disadvantage.î
