Leading the Way in the Cultural and Creative Industries

What part do you want to play in leading and shaping the UKís cultural sector?

What part do you want to play in leading and shaping the UKís cultural sector?

Do you, or perhaps somebody you work with, have the potential to make a significant contribution to the future of our arts, museums, libraries and creative industries sectors?

This week sees the launch of a series of prestigious and unique opportunities for aspiring BME leaders in the cultural sector. A national programme of Leadership Development Days will roll out across England from now until June 2007 to inspire, challenge and provide creative leadership support.

Powerbrokers Leadership Development days have been devised by a team of some of the countryís best facilitators working in business leadership and contemporary culture. Their combined skills and experience have produced a unique range of creative and accessible activities that represent a cornerstone in nurturing and developing dynamic and diverse cultural leaders for the 21st Century.

Hilary Carty, Director of the Cultural Leadership Programme says ìThese Leadership Development Days are designed to deliver a focus on the personal and professional skills required to make that next step forward. Taking on greater challenges, seeking out exciting and innovative opportunities and driving change in our industry ñ these are just some of leadership qualities that will serve the cultural sector well in both the short and long term.î

A successful pilot for the Leadership Development Days was held in February 07 and there will now be nine other events taking place at different locations through until the end of June.

Each Leadership Development Day is being facilitated by specialist leadership development company, People Create, and will be hosted by the global professional services firm, Ernst and Young LLP, long-term supporters of the UK cultural sector.
