Jobsgopublic reinforces business continuity plan with managed service from interxion

-

Interxion has announced that Jobsgopublic, the UK’s largest public sector and not-for-profit recruitment website, has boosted its disaster recovery and business continuity plans by housing its IT infrastructure at Interxion’s London data centre, where Jobsgopublic’s equipment will be monitored 24x7. Interxion’s Cabinet Plus service comes with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that guarantee 99.999% uptime and availability, ensuring Jobsgopublic’s website is always available. Previously, Jobsgopublic’s equipment was located at Globix.

As a provider of real-time information on job vacancies to more than half a million jobseekers a month that visit the site, any downtime would impact on both Jobsgopublic’s bottom line and its reputation. Jobsgopublic requires a high quality of service and a fast response time to inevitable IT glitches to ensure an uninterrupted service for its users.

Interxion provides first-line maintenance support through its European Service Centre (ESC), which gives Jobsgopublic’s IT staff a reliable and efficient point of contact. When required, the ESC rapidly takes action giving Jobsgopublic peace of mind that any problems will be quickly resolved.

Last year, Jobsgopublic’s website listed 55,000 jobs for more than 500 companies, so Interxion’s speed of response to potential or actual system downtime is business critical. Our clients rely on our uninterrupted online presence - the damage that an hour or two of downtime can cause cannot be underestimated, said Salim Badakhchani, IT manager at Jobsgopublic. Our previous colocation service often turned IT glitch molehills into mountains; with no local support we often encountered delays in getting our website back on track. Responsive technical support was central to our decision to migrate to Interxion, plus Interxion offered the most comprehensive SLAs we could find.

Jobsgopublic’s equipment is housed in secure, restricted access facilities with state of the art fire protection and climate control. Beyond these basic colocation standards, Interxion provides Jobsgopublic with a bundle of managed services, including monitoring, rapid response technical support, firewall options and structured cabling.

Guaranteed resilience of IT infrastructure and data is important to all businesses and any firm choosing to outsource to a data centre has a right to expect a comprehensive quality of service. But firms like Jobsgopublic, where the core business relies on continuous uptime, guarantees of resilience and redundancy need to be bound by stringent SLAs and time to response is of the essence in the event of an outage or technical fault, said Anthony Foy, group MD, Interxion. This is particularly important in light of the CBI’s recent call upon the Government to help companies with their business continuity plans as it underlines the fact that many organisations are still failing to prepare adequately for emergencies despite having taken on Board level security advisers. Interxion prides itself on its level of customer service, making every effort to get the right person to provide advice and solve IT problems, monitor equipment and proactively advise customers to ensure business continuity.
