Jobs market subdued in January

The Olivier Internet Job Index recorded a seasonally adjusted 1.23% increase in on line job advertisements. After the 5.5% rise in December this is perhaps not unsurprising. The trend estimate for the IJI, as calculated for us by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, shows a continuing strong market albeit at a slower pace than 2006.
