Job site urges businesses to go online to fill Jerseyís skills gap

GAAPweb has identified a major shortage of finance and accounting professionals in the Channel Islands

GAAPweb, the UKís specialist financial jobsite, has identified a major shortage of finance and accounting professionals in the Channel Islands and has responded with a targeted campaign to drive more candidates on the mainland to consider relocating to Jersey and Guernsey to fill these roles.

The lack of candidates is a particular problem in Jersey, where an impressive 60% of revenue is generated through finance and support industries. In order to meet the current demand for professionals and attract more candidates to the Island, GAAPweb has developed a tailored microsite explaining the social and financial benefits of life in Jersey.

The microsite will also host a number of job vacancies in Jersey, from both employers and recruitment consultants. In addition, these vacancies will be promoted to candidates through targeted emails and other marketing channels to ensure that businesses have the greatest chance of matching the right person to the right role.

Melissa Buxton, head of product and marketing for GAAPweb explains: ìWeíre working with a number of businesses and recruitment consultants in Jersey to address the problems caused by the current skills shortage. Our CV database is an excellent way for employers on the Island to take a proactive approach to searching for candidates. In addition, the microsite is an exciting extension of GAAPwebís offering to both employers and candidates. Jersey has so much to offer candidates, in both their professional and personal lives, which weíre sure will be attractive to many of our financial candidates.î
