UK Bristol-based rec-to-rec agency Elizabeth Gadd is blazing the trail in cross border relations through a newly formed partnership with Australian counterpart Scott Recruitment Services.
The innovative partnership has been formed to address a shortage of qualified, experienced recruitment consultants in Australiaís main commercial cities ñ Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Elizabeth Gadd will be the first point of contact for consultants who would like to consider a move to Australia. The market there is under-resourced (Scott Recruitment currently has 180 positions available in Sydney, 100 in Melbourne, 60 in Brisbane and 13 in Perth) and according to the 2004 Navigator report, industry retention is also volatile with 56% of those changing jobs opting to leave the recruitment industry altogether.
Candidates will register their details with Elizabeth Gadd and go through the usual selection process. Successful candidates will then be offered interviews with suitable employers in the City of their choice in Australia over a two week period.
Once in Australia, Scott recruitment will take the candidates through the process of moving into the job market and visas and sponsorship will be organised by the employer once a job offer has been made and accepted. This fortnight gives candidates the chance to see where they might live in Australia and experience the lifestyle for themselves.
To qualify for sponsorship candidates will need at least two yearsí recruitment consultancy experience and a degree or five years plus experience without a degree.
Commenting on the partnership, managing director of Elizabeth Gadd, Liz Snell said: ìWe have only been established for six months and have quickly gained a good reputation in the UK market. The opportunity with Scott Recruitment is a real innovation in the rec-to-rec market and gives UK-based consultants the chance to experience a different business culture, lifestyle and country without the hassle of having to source a position and working visa themselves.
ìMany young professionals in the UK dream of working or living abroad and Australia is usually in the top three places they want to go to. Our partnership with Scott means we can help them make the transition as smooth as possible. The recruitment market in Australia in similar to that in the UK. We will also be giving Australian candidates the chance to work in the UK.î
