South Wales’ longest established IT recruitment agency, Computer Recruiter, is celebrating its 25th year of helping job seekers find their perfect career in computing with a 25 day 'blogathon.'
The Cardiff based agency is publishing 25 blog posts, focusing on IT and recruitment related subjects. The posts will cover a wide range of topics, be it a countdown of the tech and IT milestones of the past two decades, the newest innovative job seeking approaches, or the career do's and don'ts from established developers and employers.
A new blog will be posted every day in January (except Sundays) at 10am, and can be accessed through the company’s website http://cr25.uk/ or via their twitter, Facebook and Google+
Marilyn Morgan who created Computer Recruiter with her husband Bernard, said “For CR 25 (Computer Recruiter - 25 Years), we wanted to do something special to celebrate 25 years as an IT recruitment agency; we wanted to create a resource that would be useful, interesting and entertaining for people working in IT.
"In addition to writing some of the articles ourselves, we sourced contributions from other South Wales-based IT professionals, including some of our past and present clients and candidates as well as notable, well-known people in the industry and the region.
"Some examples of the content that we will be publishing during the month includes: employers giving advice on what they look for when hiring; a list of co-working spaces in the area (for those who work remotely); a list of local Web/tech-related events taking place in the area in January; advice on how to present your CV and how to present yourself on social media; plus another 20 or so posts aimed at IT professionals, whether based in Cardiff, South Wales or further afield.
"We are really proud of being in business for such a long time, and we're excited about launching this campaign to signify the event.”
One of the selected contributors Warren Fauvel, from digital health and lifestyle start-up company Nudjed, said “Understanding when and how to acquire talent is a key skill for any business looking to grow. At Nudjed we put culture and attitude first. But that’s not right for everyone. This series of articles - CR 25 - is a great insight into how modern technology companies like Nudjed, should go about recruitment.”
Warren's contribution forms part of the post 'What do IT employers look for in an employee?' and focuses on the attitude of a candidate over technical skill, arguing that those who take ownership over problems and show drive, are often the best collaborators - and are essential to a growing team.
Computer Recruiter works with IT businesses across South Wales, providing a reliable and trusted platform to advertise their vacancies, whilst simultaneously attracting the best and brightest applicants and directing them to suitable roles.
