Intuit, the largest provider of back office software to small businesses in the world, was placed within the top ten at the Great Place to Work awards in London last night. This is the second year running that the company has been ranked within the top ten in the medium category for this prestigious accolade, ranked 9th best place to work in the UK over all.
Rich Preece, VP and UK country manager at Intuit commented: “This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the incredible culture our employees have developed. We are experiencing a period of rapid expansion as we help UK businesses grow by moving their back office software to the cloud. That we’ve been able to maintain our ranking in the Top 10 as we evolve so significantly as a company is a mark of considerable pride to us, particularly as the awards are voted for by our staff.”
Intuit employees were asked to complete a questionnaire to determine the quality of the workplace culture from their perspective. The questions covered a number of topics including credibility, respect, fairness and camaraderie. The judgment was mainly based on the feedback employees provided.
Preece concluded: “We are investing in the UK to grow our market share. Such awards really help us to remain competitive, boost retention numbers and become the go-to employer so we can continue to attract the best talent. This is absolutely core to our ability to serve our customers better and continue to build our business.”
This is the fourth year Intuit has featured within the GPTW rankings. It has moved from the small to medium category within this time, which is testament to its significant growth in the UK. The Great Places to Work Institute is the world’s biggest people excellence program, representing 10 million employees in 3,800 organisations.
The GPTW awards panel looks for organisations that can demonstrate a highly engaged workforce that are committed to helping the organisation achieve business objectives. Other criteria include: line managers that ensure employees feel trusted and supported, employees that have confidence in the senior leaders and direction in which they are taking the organisation and those that show a sense of community amongst employees - they enjoy working with their colleagues and are proud of where they work.
As a medium-sized employer, Intuit UK is automatically nominated for the European Best Workplaces awards. The 2014 winners will be announced in Rome on June 5.
