The Phoenix metropolitan area was recently named number one in the country for complaints of stolen identities, according to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) , says Evans. ìAs a result, we have seen a significant increase in consumer demand for our background check products.î

Identity theft is even a bigger concern for business according to the FTC, who estimates the total cost of identity theft at a staggering $52.6 billion dollars.

ìWhat many businesses donít realize is that ID Theft is typically an inside job,î said Evans, citing a recent study completed by Michigan State Universityís Identity Theft Program.

The availability of background check products and services on the internet has driven the cost of conducting background checks down to unprecedented levels, according to Evans. ìA decent background check can be completed in just a few hours and typically for the cost of a good lunch, he said.î
