Introduction
The last five years have been good to the recruitment industry. The majority of industry sectors across the UK have been growing steadily; creating mass demand for skilled and experienced employees across the board. As with all supply and demand scenarios, recruitment companies have taken advantage of this by charging up to 35% to help companies fulfill their hiring needs.
Among those most at the mercy of expensive recruitment fees are small and medium-sized companies. With little or no dedicated recruitment personnel within their workforce and nowhere near the buying power of their enterprise counterparts, SMB owners and managers often see they have little other choice. With the economy in its current state, many recruiters are reducing their fees substantially which has to trigger questions about the true value of contingency recruitment in the first place.
Iglooís free guide gives SMB owners and managers the opportunity to consider and explore the various alternative and complimentary resources that can be applied to reduce the cost and hassle of recruiting. Whilst the methods mentioned in the forthcoming pages may not eliminate the need for external recruitment providers altogether, they should at least reduce agency dependency and therefore the overall cost of recruiting in the long-term.
What to expect
The October document from Igloo RPO discusses how SMB owners can reduce dependency on external recruitment suppliers by making use of a variety of resources available to them – some free and others at a smaller cost than recruitment fees.
