HRD 2005, annual Learning, Training and Development Conference and Exhibition

12-14 April 2005, Olympia London

Now in its 20th year, HRD is the largest and most influential conference in the training and development calendar and is designed to keep employers up to date on the key issues in training and development. HRD brings together leaders from across the learning community - top coaches, organisational development specialists, gurus, senior practitioners from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and public policy makers.

The conference offers delegates the unique opportunity to network with other professionals in the industry and hear how leading organisations have approached and overcome key challenges within their business environments. The event has over 40 seminars, linking case studies, interactive workshops, debates and speakers including:

*Gordon Ramsey, award winning chef, on performing under pressure.

*Kelly Holmes, double Olympic gold medallist on self-belief, tenacity and motivation to succeed.

*Sir John Stevens, Commissioner of the metropolitan police, on being a successful business leader.

*Becky Martin, performance consultant, Terminal 5 BAA and Andrew Thompson, Junior Doctors Committee, British Medical Association, on creating a learning culture.

The event also marks the launch of CIPDís annual Learning, training and development survey 2005. This yearís results are expected to show a continued growth in training methods such as coaching and e-learning. Early indications also suggest that the vast majority of employers expect existing skills shortages to get worse over the next three years.

Over 300 providers of learning, training and development products and services will be taking part in the HRD 2005 Exhibition, which runs alongside the conference. Designed as a highly practical event, it will give visitors the chance to get some íhands-oní experience of a wide variety of training tools and techniques.
