Hospitality Job site and Internet portal appoints Catey judge to the board

hospitalityrecruitment.co.uk, the job and career site and part of the online portal www.hospitalityonline.co.uk has appointed Professor David Foskett MBE to the board as a non-executive director

Professor Foskett, an Associate Dean of TVU’s School of Tourism Hospitality and Leisure, was presented the MBE as part of the Queens Birthday Honours List, which has paid tribute to his outstanding achievements and services to the hospitality and catering industry and services to Higher Education. Says a government spokesman: ’The MBE honours those who work and serve at the sharp end - people who have really changed things, or who have given outstanding service to others in difficult situationsí.

He is absolutely passionate about his work, this is clearly evident with Davidís achievements within the hospitality industry - which fits very well into our work ethos - he has already started to make his mark, he is also an extremely nice guyî.

Professor Foskett, is a member of the Academy of Culinary Arts, and has worked within the hospitality Industry for over 40 years coupled with a career with TVU (Thames Valley University) stretching back 30 years. David sits on various guiding committees advising on hospitality training and education, coupled with conducting extensive research on the trends and growth within the hospitality industry.

Pioneering the BSc in International Culinary Arts for Practicing Chefs, the first of its kind in the UK

Co-authoring ’Practical Cookery’ and ’The Theory of Catering’ - together these books have sold more than two million copies

Pioneering the hugely successful Saturday morning Junior Chef’s Academy for local high school children

Helping to raise thousands for charity through his association with the Society of Stars and by helping to organise fundraising dinners.

As well as being awarded the prestigious MBE, David is also a judge on the Caterer ìCatey Awardsî ñ and was awarded a Catey award himself in 2003 for Education and Training ñ considered to be the Oscars of the Hospitality and Catering Industry. In 2004 David was also awarded a special award from the Craft Guild of Chefs for ìOutstanding Recognitionî in 2004.
