HealthPass, a New York City-based non-profit group which offers cost-effective health insurance solutions to small employers, announced today that more than 10,000 employees are now enrolled in its programs.
HealthPass, an innovate partnership between the New York Business Group on Health, the City of New York and the health insurance industry, offers small businesses appealing health insurance options that allow their eligible employees to choose a plan that fits their medical needs and budgets from a wide range of choices. HealthPass serves small businesses and non-profit organizations in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess and Putnam counties. More than 2,500 employers currently offer HealthPass plans to their employees and families.
ìThis is a very exciting achievement for all of us at HealthPass,î said Vincent Ashton, Executive Director of HealthPass. ìReaching this enrollment figure demonstrates the value and cost savings that our plans provide to employers and their workers. Our plans give small employers the ability to offer benefits that are typically found only at large companies, thereby helping them to attract and retain the best workers in the market.î
ìWith health care costs continuing to rise, providing a quality, affordable health insurance package to employees remains one of the biggest concerns facing all employers,î said Laurel Pickering, Executive Director of the New York Business Group on Health. ìOver the past few years, HealthPass has emerged as one of the best health care insurance options for small employers and I expect to see its enrollment figures continue to grow as more employers look for cost-effective ways to provide health care benefits.î
In addition to offering various medical plans, including Health Savings Accounts, from four leading health insurance carriers, HeathPass also allows employers to offer workers dental coverage as well as other voluntary benefits including term life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance and long-term disability insurance. HealthPass also offers an independent health advocacy service as a standard feature of its health insurance plan offerings.
