Recent statistics from London based job site, www.gumtree.com have shown an increase of over 100% in the last six months in vacancies placed in its 70 job categories.
7,200 jobs were placed in May, and this figure rose to a staggering 18,758 vacancies posted in November 2004.
Gumtree.com now gets more internet traffic than any other UK recruitment site, according to Alexa.com, the research wing of Amazon.com, and has 1.4 million unique monthly visits.
It is this sort of success that has allowed Gumtree.com to underwrite the launch of its new free sites across the UK, in Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Guildford, Reading, Manchester, Glasgow and also in Poland, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai and South Africa.
