Gumtree.com declares sellers market for recruiters

Gumtree.com achieved more Work Wanted ads than ever before during January 2005

Londonís busiest jobs web site, www.gumtree.com, achieved more Work Wanted ads than ever before during January 2005. The number of ads posted on www.gumtree.comís Work Wanted section during January doubled and rose to 12,436 from 6,381 in December.

ìMonitoring the number of recruitment ads on Gumtree.com gives a very clear picture of the employment situation in London,î says Gumtree.comís founder Michael Pennington. ìIt is obviously a very good time for employers looking to recruit.î

Gumtree.com receives more internet traffic than any other UK recruitment site, according to Amazon.comís research wing, Alexa.com, has 70 job categories of which only 30 are charged for, and at 19.95 per ad posting is 90% cheaper than its nearest rival. Having launched 16 new Gumtree sites across the UK and internationally in 2004, Gumtree.com is starting the New Year with the soft launch of a Parisien Gumtree.fr, which will be followed shortly with sites in Rome and Milan.
