A panel of industry experts assessed entries according to quality of service, innovation and profitability for the Recruiter's Awards for Excellence.
Guardian Jobs and Madgex last year launched extensive research into the needs of both job seekers and recruiters, which informed the design and functionality of the award winning job site. As a result, from April 2007 - April 2008 the site has seen a 74% increase in unique users to over 1 million, increased response for advertisers and a 50 per cent increase in applications.
The prestigious Recruiter Magazine award comes hot on the heels of guardianjobs.co.uk winning the National Online Recruitment Awards' (NORA) Best Consumer Publication Job Site, as well as a Technical Innovation Award from OnRec.
Simon Conroy, CEO of Madgex, comments: We are delighted that guardianjobs.co.uk has won the Recruiter's Best Job Board. From the outset, there was a natural synergy between Guardian Jobs and Madgex due to our shared commitment to put the user at the heart of the job board. The result is improved user interaction, conversion and retention, which has driven a serious revenue stream for the Guardian.
Nigel Bicknell, Head of Commercial Development for Guardian Jobs, adds: It's an incredible achievement to win this award. We couldn't be happier that the project we undertook with Madgex has not only enhanced user experience and driven profits, but is gaining wider industry recognition.
