Graduates Yorkshire re-launches as a social enterprise

Regional development agency Yorkshire Forward previously funded Graduates Yorkshire which is jointly owned by the regionís ten universities.

The company offers a range of recruitment-based services to provide all the information and support that graduates and employers need to find each other.

Graduates Yorkshire Chief Executive Martin Edmondson, said: ìAs an independent social enterprise the prospects for Graduates Yorkshire are very encouraging given the service we deliver to employers in the region.

ìThrough our website we recently advertised our 25,000th candidate in a job with one of the regionís major employers and more and more employers are using our services.î

Graduates Yorkshireís emergence as a social enterprise follows a recent warning that the regionís ambitions to boost the knowledge economy is threatened by its failure to retain more graduate talent, according to a new research report Graduate Economies in Britain.

Tom Riordan, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Forward, said: ìDuring the last five years, our support of Graduates Yorkshire has seen the scheme help many graduates into work within some of our regionís top businesses.

Operating in partnership with the regionís ten University Careers Services, Graduates Yorkshire offers a range of recruitment-based services including low cost vacancy advertising, enhanced adverts, bespoke recruitment packages and candidate CV search and CV Match through the sites database.

In addition to providing all the benefits of a large jobsite, Graduates Yorkshire also offers a number of services that are delivered locally by the regionís universities. Graduates Yorkshire has more than 14,000 graduates registered to the website and has managed more than 25,000 vacancies in the region.
