Ranked 30th in Times 100 ëBest Small Companies to Work Forí GCS presents a opportunity for a career in IT for Birmingham residents
GCS, an IT recruitment specialist, has opened a new office in Birmingham. This is the third office to open in the UK, with two others in Reading and London.
Having just celebrated (being ranked) 30th place in the elite Sunday Times Top 100 ëBest Small Companies to Work Forí, GCS is now hoping to attract talented staff to its Birmingham office. This opens up opportunities for consultants in the area to join a fast-paced, growing company that has been acknowledged for its corporate excellence in the workplace. The company hopes its placement in the ëTop 100í will demonstrate its credentials as a great place for employees to work and prosper.
Richard Knights, Midlands manager, GCS, comments, ìWe are delighted to be opening our third UK based office in Birmingham, especially as the job market here is extremely buoyant at the moment. There is a good mix of quality candidates looking to further their careers and in turn, many companies looking to expand their business in the IT sector. There is no sign of any slow down from recent events in the city and we are looking forward to a prosperous year.
We currently have opportunities for both contract and permanent candidates across the region with the Microsoft.net market being particularly busy. We also have a number of first to third line support roles available across the East and West Midlands as well as higher-level consultancy roles. We also hope to attract new staff internally and increase our Birmingham numbers to 10 within the next seven months.î
GCSí employees reported to the Times 100 that the company is well organised, with real clarity on individual job roles and responsibilities and a great sense of teamwork, with colleagues going out of their way to help. Training and development scored highly, with in-house ìmaster classesî given by employees, regular reviews and a bonus scheme for managers that takes into account, how they develop people rather than being based purely on financial achievement. GCSí staff also say the training is of great personal benefit and that overall the company is really fun to work for.
With GCSí ranking at number 30 in The Sunday Times Top 100 ëBest small companies to work forí, and its recent expansion, the company looks set for success in 2008. Its future plans involve opening a fourth UK office in Bristol in 2009 as well as Dublin and Amsterdam.
