Games team spirit and success applauded by judges

GAME was honoured to win two more high profile business awards in the last few days

GAME was honoured to win two more high profile business awards in the last few days.

Judges at the Thames Valley Business Awards at Wentworth Golf Club awarded Europeís largest video games retailer the Employer of Choice Award (sponsored by Mandeville Recruitment Group), and the prestigious Business of the Year Award (sponsored by Pitmans law firm).

Deputy Chief Executive Lisa Morgan and HR Director Carolyn McMenemie collected the awards on behalf of everyone at GAME.

Lisa Morgan said ìIt is a tremendous honour to win these two awards, and we were delighted to accept them. Being able to hire talented people and maintain a strong team spirit is essential to our success, as it means we can give our customers the very highest standards of service.

ìGAME is a big but very close team, full of people who have worked tirelessly to build the business by making sure that we constantly exceed our customersí expectations. This makes it a great place to work.î

ìReceiving such high profile acknowledgement ñ particularly now, in the run-up to Christmas when everyone at GAME is working flat out to serve customers ñ is a huge boost and weíre all delighted.î

ìWeíd like to thank the judges and the award sponsors, and congratulate all the other winners and participants on their superb entries.î

David Riley, MD of Mandeville Recruitment Group said: ìRecruiting and retaining the best people has become one of the most pressing challenges facing business not only in the Thames Valley but across the UK and Europe.î

ìGAME have had the additional challenge of relocating their head office and distribution facilities this year. Despite this, they have created an environment where employees understand and share the companyís overall goals and come together in a drive to achieve them.î

The winner of The Mandeville Recruitment Group Employer of Choice Award needed to show that what differentiates them from their competitors is their commitment to winning the loyalty of their employees.

The Pitmans Business of the Year Award recognises not only profitability, innovation and employment but also the contribution made to the local economic community and the provision of support to culture and charities in the region.
