The leading authority on disability as it affects businesses has this week enlisted Rockpools to search for its five new commercial non-executive directors

The leading authority on disability as it affects businesses has this week enlisted Rockpools to search for its five new commercial non-executive directors.

The Employersí Forum on Disability (EFD) is the worldís leading employers organisation mobilising business behind the economic and social inclusion of disabled people. It is funded and managed by over 400 members who, between them employ, circa 25 per cent of the UK workforce. EFD makes it easier to recruit and retain disabled employees and to serve disabled customers; and sets the standard by which businesses measure their performance on every aspect of disability.

Chief Executive of EFD, Susan Scott-Parker said: We are looking for five talented individuals who will work closely with our newly appointed Chair, the Royal Mailís Adam Crozier, to provide strategic advice and support to the Forum. Ideally, these non-executives will have backgrounds in FTSE 200 companies and provide the commercial edge needed to encourage more organisations to join the Forum.

ìWe chose Rockpools to lead this search, as they have an outstanding track record in placing leaders into non-executive roles, as well as their proven commitment to setting the pace for inclusiveness within the recruitment industry.î

David Fielding, Head of Rockpoolsí Not for Profit team who is leading the search, said: ìThe EFD plays a crucial role in supporting organisations to make the difference in employing, developing and retaining people with a disability. Not only will the winning candidates have the know-how and drive to support the strategic development of the Forum, they will also have the commitment to challenging employer and societal perceptions of disability.î

Rockpools is a gold member of the Employersí Forum on Disability and has recently become the first executive recruitment firm to sign up for the Forumís Disability Standard 2007, which assesses business performance on disability.
