Multilingualvacancies.com, the specialist language job board is celebrating five successful years

Multilingualvacancies.com, the specialist language job board is celebrating five successful years with a number of enhancements to its site to make it even easier for employers to post their positions and search high calibre bilingual candidates.

The site, which advertises vacancies both in the UK and overseas, was launched in 2003 and was the first of its kind. Today it already has over 64,000 candidate CVs registered and up to 4,000 added monthly. Searches are made in sectors as varied as travel, finance, marketing, law, education, customer service, IT and secretarial - to name but a few. Applicants have linguistic skills ranging from the more commonly used eastern and western European languages, right through to those languages associated with emerging markets, which are growing in popularity amongst employers.

According to the CBI Edexcel Education and Skills Survey 2008 forty eight per cent of firms are recruiting people specifically for their language skills. The main demand is still for European languages, the most popular being French, German and Spanish. However, 43 per cent are interested in Mandarin or Cantonese as they look to break in to new marketsî.

Consequently, the market for multilingual staff is becoming increasingly competitive and multilingualvacancies.com is able to offer companies immediate access to these candidates which will improve their business relationships with overseas customers.

One of multilingualvacancies.com most successful functions is the CV database which currently holds over 64,000 multilingual CVís. ìWe have had fantastic feedback from our CV database, our clients have remarked on its ease of use and the accuracy of the searchesî says Associate Director, Miranda Reid. ìHowever I believe that with any online product you should be constantly developing and improving, so we have added more functionality to the search facility, and improved archiving so our clients donít have to trawl through old CVís.

We have also improved our stats reporting, which will enable us to give better feedback to our clients and generate responseî

With numerous job boards being created every year, niche sites are providing more targeted response for companies requiring a more specialist service. Having now been established for over 5 years, multilingualvacancies.com considers itself a leading job board within the language sector.
