Facet5 Personality Test Recognised by BPS

British Psychological Society awards Facet5 3 Stars in BPS Test Reviews

The Facet5 Five Factor personality test, developed by Norman Buckley and published by ConsultingTools, has been put through its paces at the British Psychological Societyís Psychological Testing Centre, passing with flying colours. The rigorous testing took 18 months to complete.

It included evaluation of the test materials, evaluation of technical information, documentation, quality of computer-generated reports and supply terms and conditions. The review was undertaken by two independent testers at the British Psychological Society. Facet5 was awarded an overall reliability score of three stars (from a scale of zero to maximum five) for its documentation quality, its norms and reference groups, the construct validity, criterion-related validity and materials quality.

Robert Steed, ConsultingToolsí Commercial Director, commented; ìWe are delighted that Facet5 has been reviewed positively by the BPSís appointed testers, scoring four and five stars in some sections. The evaluation tests are stringent and extremely thorough. Attaining three stars overall in the evaluation is no mean feat and one we can be justifiably proud of at ConsultingTools.î

The following were reported in the productís final evaluation:

The quality of the materials comprising the test was deemed good, scoring four stars.

The test was acknowledged as a soundly-based, Five Factor personality questionnaire, being user-friendly and having good face validity.

It was also recognised that the psychometric constructs are clearly conveyed within the materials available to users.
The interpretation of the emotionality factor in relation to the other four factors was found to be a particularly attractive feature of the instrument. As Diane Knight of RS Components explains ìI have been a Facet user for many years. I use it in preference to other psychometrics because it is quick to administer, straight forward to explain and very effective. As it is written in language that people can understand and identify with they quickly engage in the feedback process. RS uses Facet as a platform for discussion as part of the recruitment process, in development and assessment discussions and as part of 360 degree feedback.î

The review confirms what Facet5 users have known for years: Facet5 is one of the highest quality and most reliable psychometric tests in the world.
