Employment figures released by the government yesterday show that the upward trend in employment is prevailing. Monster’s site figures for May reflect this, with overall job postings up 12% on the previous month. What’s interesting is that Monster’s ’employment recruitment agency’ and ’human resources’ categories have seen growth spurts of 10% and 15% respectively from April to May. We call this ’rec to rec’, and the buoyancy here shows that recruitment agencies are seeing an upturn in business, and companies are turning their efforts towards making their HR teams robust. These are strong signals that the corporates are getting ready to hire again.
