Employment law experts Empire HR have launched a new initiative to allow employers and HR teams to keep up-to-date more easily with the latest in employment law.
The Aberdeen-based company, which offer clients a 24/7 advice line and consultancy service, is producing a monthly audio CD, called HR Drivetime.
The CD is aimed at helping people be more aware of ever-changing case law, legislation and the various policies they should have in place.
It is understood to be the first of its kind targeting the HR market in the UK.
Businesses and HR teams are constantly inundated with journals advising of changes but for many it is difficult to find the time to read them thoroughly.
HR Drivetime is basically a synopsis of these journals which has been transformed by Empireís employment law team into an easy to listen to, comprehensive guide.
Each issue will provide information on recent law changes, updates on statutory rates and look at some of the frequent questions dealt with by their advice team. In addition every month will include a complete breakdown on drafting a different HR policy.
Empire Director Steve Cook said: ìMany employers or HR professionals just donít have the time to keep informed of all the changes and this means that some company policies could be seriously out of date. Itís easier to find the time to play a CD than read through all the journals so Empire HR has done all the hard work and produced this concise monthly guide. It also means that people can catch up with the updates outwith their working day; they can play it in their car, on their computer at their desk or even in the gym. Itís basically hassle free HR updates anytime, anywhere.î
Around 2000 copies of the complimentary pilot HR Drivetime are being sent out to businesses in the North-east, across the rest of Scotland and the UK. The first covers a number of relevant issues including how employers should manage employees during adverse winter weather, the health and safety of migrant workers, how to conduct an internal investigation and help on drafting a maternity policy.
Empire is set to increase the production of Aprilís issue of the audio CD to more than 3000.
Companies and individuals can subscribe to future copies either on an annual basis for 84 plus VAT or over two years for 160 plus VAT. They can be ordered on www.empirehr.com.
