EFA Launch new diversity tool at HRD Conference

FREE drop-in clinics at HRD conference where EFA will demonstrate its new vision for diversity policies

The Employers Forum on Age will be hosting free diversity drop-in clinics at HRD 2008 (15 - 17 April, ExCel London) and showcasing e-quality ñ a pioneering, online benchmarking tool that enables organisations to deliver best diversity policies throughout the workplace.

e-quality is a cross-strand management tool which analyses existing policies across race, gender, age, religion & belief, sexual orientation and disability. It delivers a clear overview of how the organisation is performing. As well as measuring which initiatives are really working, the tool, currently the only evaluation package of its kind, will help to identify gaps and weak areas and enable organisations to build a year-on-year picture.

The benefits to organisations that choose e-quality are threefold:

It is the perfect way to demonstrate their commitment to challenging discrimination, to staff, customers and other businesses

A strong equality policy will boost staff morale and improve retention

It will help the organisation become a healthy and legally compliant employer and reduce the time-consuming, financial and reputational risk of discrimination claims

Rachel Krys, Director at EFA comments: ìEnsuring diversity across the board is now fundamental in todayís workplace, yet if the recent RCI findings* are anything to go by, most UK workplaces still have some way to go in terms of tackling ageist policies. Therefore itís more crucial than ever that practitioners are able to measure performance and establish what really works, which is why EFA will be attending this yearís HRD Conference for the first time, showing organisations how to health-check their practices and develop best diversity policies via e-quality.

ìOur unique e-quality benchmarking tool is a structured way of measuring the impact policies have and enables diversity professionals to explore all areas of an organisation, from strategy, engagement and culture, to training, HR processes and communication ñ an invaluable asset for any diversity practitioner.î

Krys concludes ìWe believe e-quality is a fantastic and vital tool for any organisation committed to engendering a discrimination free environment within the workplace and as such, itís crucial that those organisations attending HRD, who are already committed to best practice, take advantage of our free workshops and the opportunity to see how e-quality can really benefit them and their employees.î

Laurence Berger, Head of Employer Affairs at Ford Britain, which took part in the e-quality pilot, comments: ìThe e-quality system is clear and straightforward to complete; it will provide us with just the information we need to supplement what we do to audit diversity within Ford and enable us to make comparisons with what other employers have done.î
