Disabled talent flocks to Jobsgopublic.com

Jobsgopublic.com: Linking disabled job seekers with recruiters

The latest statistics released in the 2008 NORAS survey shows that Jobsgopublicís commitment to disabled talent has been recognised by the target audience. Reporting double the national average of job seekers who declare a disability, 6% of all Jobsgopublic jobseekers are sufficiently confident of Jobsgopublic software, and their clientsí commitment to recruiting disabled talent, to declare their disability on application.

Richard Tyrie, co-founder of Jobsgopublic is delighted;

ëAs Gold Card members of the Employers Forum for Disability, Jobsgopublic are committed to playing a leading role in developing accessible services to online jobseekers. In the increasingly competitive world of attraction and retention of our nationís talent we cannot afford to miss opportunities simply because our processes present barriers or make it too difficult.í

The redesign of the jobsgopublic website undertaken in December last year focused on increasing the user experience and simplifying the job application process for the applicant and included a full impact assessment in line with all three public duties. Recruitment experiences should be positive irrespective of outcome; this is how we build reputations for our clients as employers of choice.

The extension of the public duty to promote opportunity, on the basis of disability, was a major triumph against disability discrimination, more importantly, it is recognition of the latent talent we need to embrace in our ever changing labour pools. As pioneers in the way organisations attract and retain the very best, diverse talent, we are about to launch the first ever bespoke on line portal specifically designed to provide targeted access to disabled talent by disability confident employers.
