Driven by this yearís theme, ìRECRUIT. RETAIN. RESULTS.,î executives, clients, strategic partners, and recruiting industry thought-leaders gathered at Disneyís Boardwalk Inn Resort in Orlando, Florida, for Deploy Solutionsí 2007 User Conference.
The January 21-24 conference offered dynamic sessions connecting people and process through case studies, networking opportunities, and breakout sessions. Data and metrics from Deploy customer examples illustrated successful strategies for aligning talent with business goals. Topics such as how to attract talent and how to improve workforce quality using pre-hire assessments were particularly well-received.
Attendee Joe Vinciguerra, VP of IT for Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., said ìSecuritas USA, as a recent addition to Deployís clientele, was interested to learn how to best configure, implement, and utilize the plethora of features made available through their solution. Also of interest was learning about the product roadmap for the Deploy suite of products. Mission accomplished, with the bonus of a closer relationship with, and access to, the entire Deploy organization.î
Customer case study presentations were given by Hess, Jiffy Lube, University of Michigan, American Electric Power, Tire Kingdom, Drury Hotels, and NCO Group. Conference topics included: ìDeveloping Your Candidate Sourcing Advantageî; ìIntegrating Your Brand with Your Hiring Processî; ìAchieving and Demonstrating Compliance Practicesî; ìHourly and Salaried Recruitment Technologiesî; ìThe Art and Science of Candidate Selectionî; ìMeasuring and Managing the Effectiveness of Your Talent Management Process.î
According to Dan Biddle, Ph.D., President and CEO of Biddle Consulting Group, who presented ìThe Art and Science of Candidate Selection,î ìMost companies miss their best opportunities to hire selectively. They either don’t screen for qualifications, or screen for them using ineffective tests. We have proven that using the right assessment during the hiring process can save a company thousands of dollars per bad hire. Companies can avoid candidates that might leave the job soon after they’re hired or worse, the C-players that absorb overhead costs without driving sales or customer satisfaction.î
Ray Stata, Co-Founder and Chairman of Analog Devices and Board Chairman for Deploy Solutions, delivered a keynote presentation addressing the global workforce of the future, ìThe Challenge of Competing in a Flat World.î Attendees were also treated to an appearance by keynote speaker Bill Rodgers, whose presentation, ìBe Relentless! Achieving Results beyond the BoardWalk,î was thought-provoking and inspirational. The four-time winner of both the Boston and New York Marathons and member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic Team summed up his remarks by saying, to be a consistent winner means preparing not just one day, one month, or even one year -- but for a lifetime.
ìBill Rodgersí message summarized how Deploy Solutions approaches our clientsí challenges,î said Deirdre Aubuchon, COO and CFO of Deploy. ìPreparation, positive attitudes, and teamwork are the keys to achieving success on behalf of our clients.î
