Danbro wins Business of the Year

Lancashire based Danbro, the specialist accountancy firm for contract, freelance and temporary workers, beat off stiff competition to shine at this year’s BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) to scoop the coveted title of Business of the Year - for the second time

Lancashire based Danbro, the specialist accountancy firm for contract, freelance and temporary workers, beat off stiff competition to shine at this year’s BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) to scoop the coveted title of Business of the Year - for the second time.

The BIBAs are organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and have long held a reputation as “the ones they all want to win” by businesses across all sectors in the region.

The awards night, held at Blackpool Tower, was attended by more than 1,000 people and hosted by television celebrity Stephanie Beecham.

Danbro won the prestigious accolade all ahead of seven other high profile contenders, including Chemical Innovations, Cleanall Services, Conlon Construction, Gold Medal Travel Group, Scorpion Automotive, Springhill Care and Warden Construction.

It was also shortlisted for Employer of the Year – which went to Gold Medal Travel Group. Danbro won the double back in 2011 claiming both BIBAs titles.

The awards recognise the best and brightest within the diverse economy of the county’s northern powerhouse stronghold.

Managing director Damian Broughton said:  “Our success boils down to the hard work that everyone puts in at Danbro and it’s great to be recognised at a prestigious event like the BIBAs. We continually strive to improve what we do as a business – and employer.”

Helen Broughton, Director of People & Standards, echoed these sentiments “To be recognised as the best by the judges is a massive achievement and we are all very proud.

Damian and I want to thank our Danbro family as none of this is possible without them!”

Danbro was established back in 1999 in the box room of the Broughtons’ family home I999 before extending into the garage, then onto the high street at Kirkham before moving into the first of several units on Whitehills Business Park, on the fringe of Blackpool. It relocated to the 66k sq ft Jubilee House, on Lytham Green, earlier this year.
