CV-Library announces Make-A-Wish UK as its charity partner for 2020

The UK’s leading independent job board, CV-Library, is delighted to announce that it has chosen children’s charity, Make-A-Wish UK, as its exclusive charitable partner for 2020.

The charity goes above and beyond to grant amazing wishes to critically ill children across the UK; this could be anything from a trip to Disneyland, to arranging a bedroom makeover.

CV-Library has set a target of raising £2,500 throughout the year, which will grant more wishes to children with a critical illness and give them some respite from their daily struggles.

Matthew Moore, Managing Director of CV-Library, comments:

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Make-A-Wish in 2020, as we enter our second year of working with a charity on an exclusive basis.

“It was important to us that we chose a cause where we could see our money make a real difference and this partnership means we can provide life-changing experiences to seriously ill children across the country.

“We’ve already got lots of exciting fundraising events lined up for 2020 and I’m confident that the team’s hard work will help us exceed our target; especially as we nearly doubled our original fundraising target for youth homelessness charity, Centrepoint, in 2019.”

Make-A-Wish is based at a Community Hub in Reading, less than 20 miles away from CV-Library’s head office in Fleet, Hampshire. The charity was set up in 1986 and has since granted more than 14,000 wishes. But there has recently been a significant increase in demand for wishes, so every penny helps!

Danielle Munday, Regional Fundraising Manager at Make-A-Wish, adds:

“We’d like to extend huge thanks to the CV-Library team for selecting Make-A-Wish as its charity of the year. With this help, we’ll be able to reach more children living with a critical illness.

“The children we support are often enduring things most of us could never imagine. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition.

“Last year, we granted wishes to a record 1,100 children and young people here in the UK. Every month, hundreds more children turn to us. We can only grant their wishes with the help of partnerships like this one with CV-Library.”
