CSU changes name to Graduate Prospects

.

CSU, the higher education Careers Services Unit, has changed its name to Graduate Prospects, to provide a clearer definition of its role as a leading provider of graduate careers information and advice.

The move has been supported by students and graduate recruiters, who are already familiar with the organisationís key brand, Prospects, which will continue as the umbrella for a wide range of careers publications and the leading graduate careers website, Prospects.ac.uk.

In addition the change will help to differentiate the two parts of the CSU group as chief executive Mike Hill explains:

ìTo date the charity side of the organisation has been known as the Higher Education Careers Services Unit and the commercial company as CSU Ltd. The shorthand CSU has been used for both and this has created confusion.

ìThe commercial arm will now been known as Graduate Prospects while the charity remains as the Higher Education Careers Services Unit, but is abbreviated to HECSU. By adopting HECSU we are able to end the use of CSU and the confusion this created. The new Graduate Prospects identity is closely linked to that of the brand Prospects using the same colour scheme and typeface.î

Profits from Graduate Prospects will continue to be covenanted to the HECSU charity for redistribution into the HE sector, either directly through the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and individual or groups of Careers Services; or indirectly via relevant and robust research and labour market information (What Do Graduates Do?; Moving On; Careers Services: Technology and the Future etc.)
