Cricket fans get treat as Nigel Lynn launches new recruitment guide at Lords

David Graveney Guest Speaker

Specialist finance recruiter Nigel Lynn, part of Premier Group, has launched an innovative new report on salaries, recruitment and retention in conjunction with Cass Business School. The report was launched at The NatWest Media Centre at Lords at a charity auction of cricket memorabilia in aid of ìChance to Shineî which works to bring cricket into state schools. Guest speaker was David Graveney, a leading figure in English cricket as the Chairman of Selectors who treated the audience to a question and answer session about the recent test series. Looking on - with very good grace- considering he is Australian was Steve Carter, Nigel Lynnís Managing Director and Nick Ganden, Director of Chance to Shine.

Almost 100 clients attended to hear Steve launch ìThe Resource Guideî. ìBy enlisting the help of Cass Business School to undertake the research, weíve raised the bar on the traditional salary report.î he said. ìOne of the weaknesses of the traditional salary survey is that they try and give a picture of the whole market in terms of peopleís worth. By definition thatís often based on averages and guesstimates and gives little indication as to what is really going on in the market. In this report, we have looked at the percentage of vacancies available in the market at a given time ( January ñ December 2006) broken down by salary and by qualification. This we believe gives a better indication of where the movement is ñ the dynamic that creates particular shortages of skills and therefore pushes up or depresses reward packagesî.

The auction raised 2500 for Chance to Shine.
