Craigslist has had a tremendous impact on the HR world because it allows employers to easily reach millions of candidates -- usually for FREE. All UK cities are totally free of costs for both employers and job seekers.
We have begun to see our UK numbers tick up dramatically over the past few months. Here are some basic stats:
10 UK cities -- London started in 2003, Edinburgh & Manchester in 2004, the other 8 in 2005 (majority in last 6 months)
UK cities get 8 million page views per month total. UK cities get 12,000 news classified ads per month
London gets over 5 million page views per month and 10,000 new classified ads per month.
Given the cost effective nature of Craigslist for HR recruiters -- no fees -- coupled with growing traffic already in in the millions, we expect Craigslist will have an increasingly important role to play in the UK.
