Constructionjobs.ie reports a 60% jump in job applications

The number of job applications made through specialist construction recruitment website constructionjobs.ie during the month of June jumped by 60 per cent on the number processed in February, according to latest figures released by constructionjobs.ie.

Paraic Kelly, director of constructionjobs.ie says: In June we processed 7,200 applications though the website, a jump of 60 per cent on the 4,500 applications made in June. This figure is from roughly the same number of unique users of 35,000 per month. It suggests there is a monumental shift amongst service users from being window shoppers to serious shoppers.

Current global construction market conditions are resulting in huge migratory movement of construction professionals and skilled labour between different parts of the world. Paraic Kelly says this fact is been borne out in the locations to which applications are being sent.

He says: Twelve months ago Ireland and the UK were the dominant markets in which we operated. However an explosion of interest in job opportunities in the Middle East, particularly the United Arab Emirates, has resulted in this market accounting for over 30 per cent of all applications traffic though constructionjobs.ie.

Other growing markets for constructionjobs.ie are the USA and Canada as well as Australia and South Africa.

The vast majority of applications for jobs through the website are for construction professional positions such as Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, Project Managers and Architects.

Paraic Kelly comments: With the growing number of construction professionals seeking the best opportunities, particularly in the UAE, we are also seeing a significant increase in the number and quality of positions on offer in these locations.
