At some point in your career there comes a time and need to seek career advice, be it at the start of your career or even later on when you may be looking for a career change, but where do you go for simple and effective advice? And how do you know that the advice you do receive is appropriate and relevant to the industry you are seeking to work in?

In response to this problem, The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has launched a new career guidance web tool, the Tech Career Compass, newly launched to help guide students and existing employees a like through the maze of career and training options available within the IT industry.

This is industry designed and developed, and is a free service that offers advice not only to those looking to make a career change in the ICT industry, but also for those looking to employ from the industry, career advisors as well as training providers and curriculum developers.
This initiative has been primarily set up to address the growing mismatch between job skills and skill requirements in the ICT workplace and has already received validation from the likes of Cisco.
