The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Mike Nangle, officially opened the new Kelly Educational Staffing (KES) branch in the city centre. The KES Waterloo Street branch offers a specialist recruitment service to teachers and to schools. The Birmingham branch is part of the world’s most successful education staffing organisation.
The event marked the opening of Kelly Educational Staffing’s first full service branch in Birmingham. Since KES opened in Birmingham two years ago it has shared premises with Kelly Services, but a boom in business meant that it outgrew its current premises and needed its own office.
Jeni Savage, Branch Manager said, Our ’teacher friendly’ approach to supply teaching combined with our understanding of the needs of schools in the area have fuelled our growth and we are delighted to be expanding our operation. We are proud to have the Education Quality Kite Mark and to be working with Birmingham City LEA. Now we have our own office we can expand the team and take full advantage of our new interviewing and meeting facilities. We are confident that we will soon become the market leader in supply teaching in the West Midlands.
Kelly Educational Staffing combines quality systems, including rigorous reference checking procedures, with a through understanding of the challenges faced by teachers and schools in the area. The company believes teachers merit a professional day’s pay for a professional day’s work and is one of the few agencies in Birmingham that pays its teachers ’to scale’. It also offers a wide range of other benefits including a comprehensive ’teachers handbook’, and gives its supply teachers and classroom assistants all the help and support they need to deliver classroom excellence.
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Nangle said: Making sure that our young people receive the very best education is of paramount importance and it’s clear to me that KES is doing a very good job in helping the schools to maintain high standards within the classroom. I am delighted that their business is growing. Having such a professional supply teaching operation in place is good news for Birmingham teachers and for schools.
