Ceridian to create 250 new jobs over next three years

Ceridian today announced that it is to expand its 80-strong existing operations in Glasgow and expects to create over 250 new jobs over the next three years.

Doug Sawers, managing director of Ceridian in the UK, said: It is our objective to scale our Glasgow facility into the most modern and effective centre for human resources customer support and software development in the UK.

There is considerable growth opportunity in the provision of effective HR services and solutions, which increase the value of customersí human capital, enabling them to improve their overall business performance. Our Glasgow office will be a centre of excellence for HR administration in support of best practice human capital management.

The decision to expand our operations in western Scotland follows an extensive search, during which a number of different regions in the UK were considered. A major consideration, as we recruit more HR and payroll professionals, is the very inherent customer service and IT professional service skills in the area. In order to enhance still further the calibre of potential employees, we will also be establishing links with local further education establishments.

First class job opportunities will be created in Glasgow in the fast growing HR outsourcing sector. I am delighted that the Scottish Executive is supporting this exciting expansion with a 2.6m Regional Selective Assistance grant.

Ceridian operates from 12 locations in the UK plus an offshore service and IT development centre in Mauritius. Parent company, NYSE listed, Ceridian Corporation is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Originally founded in 1932, its UK operations were established in 1965. Ceridian currently employs 700 staff in the UK.
