Carl Gilleard honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to UK Graduate Recruitment

Carl Gilleard has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for transforming the way graduate recruitment is viewed in the UK

Carl Gilleard, who celebrates his 10th anniversary as Chief Executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters on 1 June, has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for transforming the way graduate recruitment is viewed in the UK.

Receiving the award in front of an audience of 700 people at the annual TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment event in London last night, Carl Gilleard said: ìIt is not often that I am speechless but I really am speechless to receive this. It is a great honour to be recognised by fellow professionals for the achievements of the last ten years. I would particularly like to thank the board members and staff of the Association of Graduate Recruiters for their support in this, our 40th anniversary year.î

Carl Gilleard has overseen considerable growth in membership at the AGR since he took over as Chief Executive in 1998 and has raised the profile of the Association both nationally and internationally. Carl entered the world of graduate recruitment in 1989 as director of METRA (the Metropolitan Authorities Recruitment Agency) and for two years was the regional director of the West Midlands Employers Organisation. He previously spent 20 years working in education as a careers adviser, careers service manager and senior education officer.
