With career advancement now one of top three reasons behind British adults learning foreign languages, the Language Show at Olympia this weekend is expecting thousands of people, a massive increase on last year.
This is not surprising as Britons who learn a foreign language are richer, happier and regarded as sexier than those who can only speak English, according to a new study by Michael Thomas, Hollywood’s celebrity language teacher.
According to the report, learning a second language can boost an average worker’s lifetime earnings by as much as 145,000.
Amongst the talks at the annual Language Show at Olympia (all of which are free to visitors), are language taster sessions where you can try your hand at Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Mandarin and any of the 13 different languages being offered during the show.
There are seminar sessions on
doing business in China,
avoiding cultural faux pas for travellers and even
how to avoid the pitfalls of buying a house abroad.
how to learn languages while travelling abroad,
ways to get your kids learning languages and even an energetic
Cuban Salsa lesson for those learning Spanish.
As well as over 80 exhibitors showing all the different ways to learn.
The Language Show is on Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th November at Olympia, London.
Tickets are also available by telephoning the ticket hotline on 0870 0119436.
