The Brightwork Group, the fast-growing Scottish recruitment specialist, has strengthened its leading warehousing, logistics and distribution division with the appointment of a highly experienced professional.
The Glasgow and Edinburgh-based company has appointed Alan Colquhoun, an executive and manager with a strong track record in recruitment, business development, advertising, B2B and sales.
Alan, 37, from Alloa, is specialising in warehouse and distribution at a time when demand for good candidates is high as the service sector remains strong and growth predictions are encouraging.
He is focussing on recruiting temporary and permanent candidates with specialist skills required to work in busy warehouse and distribution environments for clients based across the Central Belt of Scotland.
He said: "After a varied career, I have specialised in recruitment and I am delighted to have joined an organisation as professional and dedicated to its candidates and clients as Brightwork."
Linda Skeen, Director of themanufacturing, warehouse and distribution division at Brightwork, said: "Brightwork is always on the look-out for talented people with flair and imagination and Alan brings excellent qualities and experience to his new role."
Alan served in the Army until 2001 in roles as varied as section commander, tank driver and dog handler. When he re-entered civilian life, he specialised initially in sales and account management with blue chip organisations such as Sky and BT.
He gained experience in advertising and business development before moving into recruitment as a permanents recruitment consultant with a National Recruiter in 2013.
The Brightwork Group was established by recruitment veterans Charles Turner and Anthony Knight in 2006. Since then it has established itself in drinks and industrial recruiting, supplying thousands of workers every year to Scottish business.
Brightwork has also built up a thriving specialist recruitment arm, BWSR, focusing on the professional, technical and managerial sectors. Turnover in this division has risen almost 10-fold since its inception in 2008.
Its latest acquisition is Quality Link Recruitment (QLR), the respected Scottish staffing and event management service, which will significantly enhance Brightwork's offering in the catering and hospitality sectors.
