Warwickshire-based marketing & PR recruitment agency Big fish took the limelight as key sponsors at this yearís prestigious PRide Presidents Grand Prix awards with an inspired promotional campaign that won praise by the PR professionals in attendance.

The awards, which took place at the recently reopened Town Hall in Birmingham on Thursday 6th March 2008, were organised by The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and reward excellence and achievement in public relations and communications from across the UK.

The event was diamond themed to mark the CIPRís 60th Anniversary celebrations and also featured a glamorous performance by a Marilyn Monroe impersonator.

Big fish used the diamond theme to support the event with a high-profile prize draw offering guests the opportunity to win a timeless diamond jewellery piece from world-renowned jewellers, Tiffany & Co.

Over two hundred and fifty PR industry colleagues and media professionals who attended the event took part in the promotion with the winner announced by CIPR President, Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, at the close of the ceremony.

The winner of the Tiffany & Co diamond was announced as Suzanne Virdee, the main news anchor and presenter for regional news bulletin Midlands Today on BBC1.

Commenting on the promotional campaign, Carl Freelove, Marketing Manager at Big fish, said: ìOne of the biggest challenges we face as a recruitment consultancy is trying to find quality new PR professionals due to the impending skills shortage that is threatening the public relations industry. As event sponsors, we saw the diamond promotion as a great opportunity to get exposure in the PR community and help attract passive PR candidatesî.

The awards were hosted by Heart FM Radio presenter Charlie Jordon and were also sponsored by PR Week, Harvey Nichols, Clipability, IDC Design, Birmingham International Airport, Onscreen Productions.
